There may have been a solar eclipse on Aug. 21 and a downpour at night, but there was plenty of sunshine inside as families arrived for back to school orientation night.
Friends reconnected, parents and teachers met and books were covered as everyone prepared for the upcoming school year.
The school year started with an exciting donation from the Chevy Network and Mr. Pat Preston, of Preston Chevrolet, who sponsored St Helen’s computer lab with a challenge grant of $25,000. The St. Helen Parents Advisory Committee (PAC), as well as school families and parishioners, matched the challenge. The generous gift will help each class take full advantage of all that technology has to offer.
