Powder Puff Football
St. Mary School Student Council hosted its first powder puff football game this past week. The eighth-grade Pink Diamonds outscored the seventh-grade Purple Evil Minions to take home the win. The whole school came out to cheer on the teams and celebrate Viking school spirit.
Grandparents Day
St. Mary School overflowed with grandparents and special guests in celebration of Grandparents’ Day. Donuts and conversations took over the halls as students buzzed with excitement to share their school as a part of this annual tradition.
The students prepared a special Mass celebration led by the sixth-grade class that included their special guests. The program concluded with each grade dedicating a special song to the audience. Second-graders sang “God Bless our Grandparents” and the third-graders performed their original “Grandma and Grandpa” to the tune of “On Top Of Spaghetti.”
Second-grader Mikey Lawrence said, “It was fun! I ate two donuts and got to show my grandpa my classroom.”
Maureen Intihar, development director, said, “St. Mary School is fortunate to have many multi-generational families. Many of the grandparents who attended the event have been supporting the school since their children were students here. We are very lucky to have them!”
