Budding Engineers

After reading the story of the “Three Little Pigs,” the kindergarten designed new houses for the pigs as an integrated language arts and STEM activity. The kindergarten followed the engineering design process to design and build the house. They needed a strong sturdy home to stand up to the “big bad blow dryer” wolf. Each group’s house made it through the storm.

Nature’s Scopes Graduation

Fifth-graders had their Nature’s Scopes graduation at the Rookery in Munson.  They were able to explore the forest, wetland and pond ecosystems, getting up close and personal with bullfrogs, snakes, turtles, poison ivy and so much more.

The Nature Scopes Program is a wonderful partnership in conjunction with the Geauga Park District. The best part of all was that each student received a pair of binoculars to continue to explore the world. It was a great day and the weather was perfect, too.
