Junior High Spring Musical

Michael Hoffmann and Tyler Malloy were the stars of this year’s musical, “School House Rock Live Junior.” Tyler played Tom, a teacher preparing for his first day of school, and by the end of the musical, he showed the audience that he was ready for the challenge. Michael Hoffmann played the leader of all the thoughts inside Tom’s head.

The show’s first song “Nouns” with soloist Olivia Goetz and Lainey Mardula started the show ready to make learning fun. The audience was wowed by the soloists in the different numbers. Emily Aldridge and Elizabeth Passow sang a beautiful version of “Inter-planet Janet,” where Megan Bender played Janet, flying around the stage visiting each planet in the solar system.

The eighth-grade boys used their deep voices and dance moves to teach multiplication of three in a fun memorable way in the song “Three’s a Magic Number.”

Luke Gillispie and Zach Nieto were the soloists that explained the expansion of the United States of America. The rest of the sixth-grade sang backup and successfully completed a difficult dance number.

The musical would not be complete without the favorites of “I’m Just a Just a Bill” by Daniel Yaniglos and Tyler Malloy, “Conjunction Junction” by Michael Hoffmann and “Interjection” byMichael Hoffmann.

The entire eighth-grade was the trusted stage crew for the production. The students handled all of the sound and lighting cues throughout the show. They also choreographed and taught many of the dance numbers.

Flyers for the musical were designed in computer class and posted around the school to get everyone ready for the big day of the musical.

Preschool through fifth-grade, escorted by teachers and parents, walked from the school to the theater to enjoy the matinee.

A huge thank you goes to sixth-grade teacher, Mrs. Fedak, and music teacher, Mr. Gorski, for another great production.
