Groundhog Day Predictions
Kindergartners graphed their guesses of what will happen with the groundhog. They wondered why a groundhog only sometimes sees his shadow. After experimenting with darkness and light, they learned that a groundhog only sees his shadow when there is light. The shadow happens when something, such as the groundhog, blocks the light. Twelve of the class’ 17 students thought that the groundhog would not see his shadow.
St. Mary Students Give Back
During Catholic Schools Week, the students “paid” to dress down on Jan. 30 to collect money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand. The theme for the day was ” When your day is sour, sweeten it with gratitude.”
Students raised $627.67, which is enough to fund more than one day of childhood cancer research. Thank you to all who donated.
