Fifth-Grade Glue Design
As part of their study of the design process, the fifth-grade created stronger, more durable glue. Each group was given a flour mixture, cornstarch mixture and gelatin mixture. Once they determined the amount of each ingredient they wanted, each group prepared the glue. The glue was put on an index card with a paper clip extending from the card. After drying, they added washers to see whose card held the most. Three days laterĀ and all glue creations are going strong, with each supporting 38 washers. The fifth-grade is on to something.
