Geauga County schools will begin tournament play Feb. 15.
In a new wrinkle, the Ohio High School Athletic Association has changed the location of the first two rounds of the state tournament.
No longer will those games be played on a neutral court. Rather the best-seeded team will host either one or two home tournament games. Some of that money will be kept by the home school, but most will be funneled back to the OHSAA.
Only Chagrin Falls and Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin will play guaranteed home games. Other schools, like Berkshire and Newbury, would need significant first-round upsets to host a game.
