NDCL recently received word from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation that senior Tommy Carballada, of Lyndhurst, has been named a National Merit finalist. He is one of only 1,500 finalists selected from about 1.6 million students who took the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) in October 2015.

“We couldn’t be more proud of Tommy, not just for his achievement as a National Merit finalist, but also for the many ways his outstanding intellect, superior athletic talent and stellar character have positively influenced NDCL over the past four years,” commented Principal Joseph A. Waler. “He is truly a leader who has and will continue to transform the world.”

Earlier this year, Brendan Hyslop, of Chester Township, and Anna Pallante, of Newbury, were recognized as commended students. They scored among the scored among the top 3 percent of more than 1.6 million students nationwide who took the PSAT.
