Invitational Student Art Show in Middlefield
April 1, 2018 by Submitted

High School/Middle School Division, April 14, 15, 21 and 22, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Elementary School Division, May 5, 6, 12 and 13, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The public doesn’t often have an opportunity to see what local high school and middle school students are accomplishing.

Middlefield Historical Society is offering that opportunity with its 34th annual Invitational Student Art Show.

Participants include Berkshire, Cardinal, Chardon and Newbury schools. Art teachers select the best work of their students and put much time and effort into preparing the displays. The artwork is then professionally judged, with ribbons and prizes going to first-place winners; ribbons will be awarded for second-place and honorable-mention entries.

In the high school/middle school division, the best artwork, as determined by the judges, is awarded the Best of Show prize and ribbon.

The public is invited to come see the results of the high school/middle school division on Saturdays and Sundays, April 14, 15, 21 and 22, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The elementary school division will be on display to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, May 5, 6, 12 and 13, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Admission to the show is free, but donations are welcome to help defray the expenses of putting on the show.

Middlefield Historical Society will host the show at 14979 South State Ave., Middlefield Village.

Middlefield Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving local history. For more information on the art show or Middlefield Historical Society, please call 440-632-0400 or 440-241-2192.
