Geauga Dairymen 4-H Club held its last meeting on Feb. 28 at the Berkshire Hathaway Real Estate office in Chardon. Members began the meeting by painting a window display in honor of Ohio 4-H week.
In old business, Garrett talked about Dairy Palooza on April 27 at the Canfield fairgrounds. Most members are interested and planning to attend. Advisor Emma reminded members to complete the Hoards Dairymen Judging Contest and submit their entries to her by March 15.
In new business, members approved the club constitution and by-laws. Members voted to participate in the fundraiser to support the Advisory Committee by selling fruit snacks and chocolate bars. Advisors reminded members and parents that enrollment, animal lease and housing forms are due soon.
Mark completed a demonstration about the importance of dirt bike safety and the clothing/equipment that one should wear. Advisor Nancy did an education topic about how to prepare for a calf in winter months.
The next meeting will be on March 24 at 1 p.m. at the Hastings Dairy. Garrett will be completing a demonstration and Danny will be providing recreation. (Submitted by Garret, president)
