Girls Scout Gold Award

Kenston graduate Jessica Sunderhaft earned her Girl Scout Bronze, Silver and Gold awards. Jessica used her interest and passion for art to make a difference at Camp Ho Mita Koda, which is a camp for children with diabetes. She designed and created a large banner highlighting images of the camps’ 90-year history and decorated benches around the camp.

The Girl Scout Gold Award is the most prestigious award available for Girls Scouts.

National Statistics Poster Contest

Third graders in Michelle Spicuzza’s third-grade class were the national winners in the Ohio Data Visualization Poster Competition sponsored by the American Statistical Association (ASA). Their poster, titled “What is the Value of Your Name,” used the value of Scrabble tiles to chart, graph and plot quantity of their first and last names. ASA has supported excellence in the development, application and dissemination of statistical science.
