Jim Gill, nationally-acclaimed musician and author, will be performing at an active sing-along, clap-along concert for the whole family.

Held offsite at Oberland Park, 14639 Auburn Road, Newbury Township, the program is funded by the Geauga County Library Foundation.

American Girl Party

July 12, 10 a.m.

Experience the 1960s and the first moon landing with American Girl Melody. Children grades K-6 are encouraged to bring any doll. Enjoy crafts and activities for both kids and dolls.

Friends of the Library AV Sale

July 13, 9 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Annual AV sale. Fill a bag for $3. No registration is required.

Exploration Station

Children entering grades 3-5 are encouraged to discover and investigate art, science and nature.

Needle Arts Club

Work on a project or learn a new skill in a friendly, informal atmosphere. Bring yarn, hook or knitting needles. Size H crochet hook and size 8 knitting needles recommended. Borrow our materials for the session and try it out. All skill levels welcome.

Lunch Bunch

Kids entering grades 1-3 can register to practice reading to teen volunteers entering grades 6-12 while enjoying a lunch they brought from home.

On Gossamer Wings

Explore the interesting life cycles and enjoy the beauty of Geauga County’s butterflies and moths.

Youth in grades 3-5 will celebrate summer break with the library’s video games and old-school board and card games.

Scrapbooking Crop

July 13, 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Bring photos, supplies and a friend to work on all types of crafts such as scrapbooking, card making, jewelry or iris folding. The library’s Ellison die machine will be available.

Wonderful Woods

July 17, 2 p.m.
Youth in grades K-5 should wear their best hiking shoes to walk “exciting trails.” Follow a map and animal tracks and use the “binoculars” they make to spot birds and animals.

Friends of the Library Book Sale

July 24-27

The Geauga West Friends of the Library summer book sale begins July 24 with a members-only preview from 4-6 p.m. Memberships are available at the door. The public sale follows from 6-8:30 p.m.

The sale continues July 25, 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; July 26, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and July 27, which is $5 Bag Day, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

There are thousands of new and gently used adult, young adult and children’s books, puzzles and audio/video items.
