Jeff Griff, owner of Lowe’s Greenhouses, Florist and Gift Shop in Bainbridge Township, recently announced he and his spouse, Mary Lynn Griff, are selling their family business to Bainbridge residents Bob Scott and Sam Delpra.

The sale is expected to be finalized by year-end.

Lowe’s Greenhouse was founded in 1926 by Carlton Lowe. The Griff family took ownership in the 1950s. Jeff, 57, has worked at Lowe’s Greenhouse for 44 years and owned it for the past 24 years.

“It’s been a gift to operate a business in this outstanding community. For Mary Lynn and me, it’s been a special place to live and work,” said Jeff. “We are very thankful to Bob and Sam for giving us the opportunity to continue working at this business we love, and at the same time, mentor the generation that will carry it into the future.”

Scott and Delpra, both 30 years old, are childhood friends and West Geauga High School alumni. Scott is a graduate of The Ohio State University and Delpra earned a business degree at Lake Erie College. They founded SWB Landscaping in 2011.

“We look forward to rolling our business into Lowe’s Greenhouse, known throughout the region for providing high quality plant material and exceptional landscape design and installation, as well as a premier home good retail center and award-winning floral shop,” Scott said.

Customers, vendors and friends of both businesses are invited to join the current and future owners of Lowe’s Greenhouse for a celebration 6-8 p.m. Dec. 6. Beverages for a celebratory toast and light appetizers will be available. RSVP to office@lowesgreenhouse.com or call 440-543-5123.
