KHS Parent Conferences

Kenston High School will hold parent teacher conferences Feb. 13, from 4 – 8pm in the high school gymnasium. The parent teacher conference is an opportunity for parents to learn about their child’s progress in school and for teachers to gain insight into their student’s home and community lives. The high school utilizes an “open” format with teachers at individual tables, set up in the gym where you can stop to see any or all of your child’s teachers. If you need more time than the allotted five-ten minutes, please contact your child’s team leader to set up an appointment. During the school year, utilize Infinite Campus to check your student’s weekly progress.

CCP Informational Meeting

College Credit Plus (CCP) is Ohio’s dual enrollment program that provides students in grades 7-12 the opportunity to earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking courses from Ohio colleges or universities. The purpose of this program is to enhance students’ career readiness and post-secondary success, while providing a wide variety of options to college-ready students at no or limited costs to students and families.

To find out more about the program and see if it is a fit for one’s child, parents and students are highly encouraged to attend our CCP Information Night on Feb. 13 in the Kenston High School auditorium.

Several area college representatives will be available after the presentation for questions and to provide more specific information. Also, mandatory handouts will be distributed at the event that are required to be handed in before April 1 in order to participate in CCP for the 2020-21 school year.

Kenston is planning to offer some CCP English courses, as well as Calculus I and III in-house next year.

Distinguished Hall of Fame

The Kenston Alumni Association is seeking nominations for the second class of Distinguished Hall of Fame inductees. The individuals will be graduates or staff members who have achieved success in their careers and have made significant contributions in their fields as well as to society. Inductees will have graduated or worked at Auburn, Bainbridge or Kenston schools.

To be eligible, nominees must have graduated in the Class of 2010 or before, or retired or left the school system by June 1, 2010, or before, and not currently be employed by Kenston schools.

Visit kenstonlocal.org for more information. The deadline for nominations is Feb. 28. Inductees will be recognized during Homecoming 2020.

A panel of Kenston High School students, alumni, staff and administrators will select inductees for the Hall of Fame. Selections will be based on nominations; information received from friends, families and an application completed by the individuals themselves.
