The Geauga Dairymen 4-H Club had a meeting via Zoom on May 17. The meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance led by Mike followed by the 4-H Pledge led by Louie. Nick reviewed the treasurer’s report.

Old business discussed was quality assurance and using codes to register online and purchase programs by May 31. Members were to complete the program by June 14 and send a screen shot of completion to Emma or a copy of the certificate.

New business discussed included a food drive – the club approved a $150 donation to the Hunger Task Force. The community service project is making no sew blankets. Each family is requested to make one by the middle of August. Members submitted videos for a public speaking contest.

For Dairy Month in June, each member was requested to submit a small video enjoying a favorite dairy item by June 1. Mike compiled them into one video.

Animals are expected around mid-June. No masks are needed, however, members are requested to set up appointments to work with the animals.

For a demonstration, Bella showed her chicken and named parts of the chicken.

Education was done by Brenda and she told members about cows being used in helping to fight COVID-19.

Recreation was done by Mike; members discussed what they have been doing during quarantine.

The next meeting was held at 11 a.m. June 14. (Submitted by Gabriella Chenoweth, news reporter)
