Geauga Gems Trekking Series Hike 

August 14, 7-8:30 p.m.

Sunnybrook Preserve

Enjoy an evening hike on the trails at Sunnybrook Preserve. Must have the ability to hike at least 1.5 miles over hilly terrain. Held rain or shine, so dress accordingly and bring drinking water. Registration required.

Nature Break: Women’s Retreat 

Aug. 15, 8:30 a.m. to noon

Headwaters Park, Boathouse

Take a break and relax in the park, choosing from activities including yoga, another nature-related activity and kayaking. Bring a mat or beach towel for yoga, and dress in layers with comfortable clothes for being outside and for yoga. Fee is $4 in-county or $5 out-of-county.

Nights Out in the Parks

Aug. 15, 7-8:30 p.m.

Claridon Woodlands

Enjoy high-energy traditional folk and bluegrass music by Hiram Rapids Stumblers under the stars. Bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for seating in the grass. Attendance will be limited; social distancing and face coverings are encouraged. Registration required.

Plant Your Own Meadow

Aug. 16, 1:30-2:30 p.m.

Frohring Meadows, Katydid Lodge

Learn how to start a meadow that benefits wildlife and pollinators and looks amazing, too. Second in a series featuring meadows and prairies in Geauga parks. Indoor presentation followed by an outdoor walk (separate registration). Registration required.

Meadow Meander

Aug. 16, 2:30-4 p.m.

Frohring Meadows, Katydid Lodge

The outdoor walk follows the indoor presentation. View the amazing display of meadow and prairie plants established at Frohring Meadows and get a chance to glimpse some of the wildlife that benefit from these plantings, including pollinators. Registration required.
