The annual benefit auction for Middlefield Care Center Amish Birthing Center will be held at the Buster Miller Farm, 17719 Newcomb Road, Middlefield. Event includes food, bake sale and live and silent auctions. Quilts sell at 7 p.m. Donations are needed and appreciated.

Family Health and Safety Day

Aug. 6, 9 a.m. to 1 pm.

Join University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center for a family-friendly community event to celebrate wellness with free health screenings, educational activities and demonstrations.

The event includes both walk-up and preregistered health screenings at the medical center located at 13207 Ravenna Road, Claridon Township.

Wings And Wheels Event

Aug. 6, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Classic Jet Center and Carver Financial Services are hosting a Wings and Wheels event at Lake County Executive Airport, 1969 Lost Nation Road in Willoughby.

Fly-in and drive-in; there is no registration fee for planes or cars. All planes are welcome. Registration and staging are from 9-11 a.m.

Trophies for Best in Show and People’s Choice will be awarded at 2 p.m. Food will be available.

Claridon Township’s second annual Get Down With the Town will be held at Claridon Recreation Park. Enjoy an evening of music, food and community.

Summer Concert Series

Aug. 9, 7 p.m.

Thompson Township continues its free summer concert series on the square with country music by the Great Geauga Fair Band.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket. Well-behaved pets are welcome.

Food Pantry Raffle Fundraiser

Chardon VFW 6519 Auxiliary is holding a raffle for the Geauga County Veterans Food Pantry. Tickets are $5 each or six for $20. Prize is a $500 GetGo/Giant Eagle gift card. Winner will be drawn at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 8 at the post.

Kiwanis Summer Concert Series

Aug. 10, 7-9 p.m.

The Kiwanis Club of West Geauga continues its summer concert series at the Chester Township Park gazebo with Mr. Haney, a string band that plays Appalachian old-time fiddle tunes.

Rockin’ With Resources

Dem’s Women’s Caucus Fundraiser

Aug. 12, 6-8 p.m.

Geauga County Democratic Women’s Caucus is hosting a wine and cheese fundraiser for Matt Kilboy, candidate in the Congressional 14th District race.

Tickets are $15 per person and include first glass of wine. Beer and non-alcoholic beverages will be available.

The event will take place at the Geauga Democratic Headquarters, 12420 Kinsman Road, Newbury Township.

Chardon Brewfest

Aug. 13, noon to 5 p.m.

Chardon Brewfest returns to historic Chardon Square, where 25 brewers from Ohio and surrounding states will provide samples of over 50 beers. The event also features live music all day and five local food vendors.

Tickets are $40 in advance, or $45 day of event, and include 15 tastings and a tasting glass. Designated driver ticket includes the tasting glass and soft drinks.

DTJ Harvest Day Festival

Aug. 14, 11 a.m.

DTJ Taborville’s 88th annual Harvest Day Festival will be held at Taborville located at the corner of Bartholomew and Quinn roads in Auburn Township.

The parade starts at 2 p.m. and Czech foods will be served beginning at 11 a.m.

Music will begin at 12:30 p.m. Scheduled to perform are Sokol Greater Cleveland Concert Band, Anthony Culkar and Frank Moravick Orchestra.

Czech beer will be available at the bar. T-shirts and other Czech items will also be for sale.

There is a $5 donation at the gate for those over 12. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. No coolers or pets permitted.

Christian Women’s Connection

Bainbridge Rox

Aug. 27, noon to 10 p.m.

Bainbridge Civic Club is hosting its annual Bainbridge Rox at Centerville Mills Park, 8558 Crackel Road in Bainbridge Township. Admission and parking are free.

The event features live music, ox roast, children’s entertainment area, food trucks, beer tent, mud volleyball tournament, Texas Hold’em tournament and an exhibitor area for local artisans and businesses.
