Perennial Gardeners Plant Sale

The Perennial Gardeners of Chesterland’s annual plant sale in the parking lot of Chester Town Hall, 12701 Chillicothe Road, features a large assortment of hanging baskets, perennials, natives, houseplants and annuals. Sale will be held rain or shine.

Geauga Dems Collect Signatures

The Geauga Democratic Party will be collecting signatures for the reproductive freedom petition at the Bainbridge Library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and at 5192 Chillicothe Road in South Russell Village from 9 a.m. to noon.
Family First Council

Geauga Family First Council meets the third Monday of the month at the Geauga County Board of Mental Health and Recovery Services building located on 13244 Ravenna Road in Chardon. Meetings are open to the public.

Gardening 101

Geauga County Master Gardener Volunteers’ free Gardening 101 series continues with “Harvesting and Preserving Your Bounty” in the Patterson Center at the Geauga County Extension Office, 14269 Claridon-Troy Road, Burton. Master gardeners Mirko Antloga and Deb Miller will cover when and how to determine vegetables and fruits are at optimum ripeness and how to preserve for both short and long-term storage.

Civil War Encampment

Geauga County Historical Society presents a Civil War Encampment on the grounds of Century Village Museum in Burton. The event features authentic reenactors, sutlers and battles.

Pancakes and Airplanes
June 3, 8 a.m. to noon
Chapter 5 of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will host its 13th annual youth event including a pancake breakfast and Young Eagles Airplane rides at Classic Jet Center at Lake County Executive Airport 1969 Lost Nation Road, Willoughby.
Pilots from the nonprofit organization will donate their time, fuel and aircraft to fly kids ages 8-17 at no cost; parental permission is required. Register at youngeaglesday.org.
There will also be hands-on youth stations with a variety of activities. Breakfast is $10 for adults, $5 for kids ages 3-12 and free for children under 3. Cash only, please. All proceeds benefit EAA Chapter 5 programs.

Afternoon of Storytelling

Author and historian Dan Rager will weave stories of the Maple Leaf Route and The Interurban Railway from a bygone era.
