Superintendents of Geauga County public schools will share updates from schools at the next Geauga Economic Leadership (G.E.L.) breakfast at Kent State University – Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road, Burton.

Breakfast and networking begin at 8 a.m. Free and open to the public.

Christmas Gathering Boutique

Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Chesterland Historical Village hosts its annual Christmas Gathering in the 1842 restored home of Silas and Molly Tanner. Enjoy a holiday tea, handcrafted gifts, unique decorations and display of vintage clothing and hats. Admission is free.

Young of Heart

Nov. 3, 11:30 a.m.

Geauga Young of Heart will meet at St. Anselm Church in Chester Township. Bring a brown bag lunch. Snacks and beverage are provided.

Maria, from Cardinal Physical Therapy, will give advice for keeping in shape during the winter.

A Christmas trip has been planned for Dec. 12-14 to Lancaster, Pa., which includes “Miracle of Christmas” at the Sight and Sound Theatre, “The First Noel” variety show at the American Music Theatre and Holidays at the Mount Hope Mansion dinner theater and more. Craft Fair

Nov. 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lake Catholic will host a craft fair featuring over 100 crafters at the school located at 6733 Reynolds Road in Mentor. The event also features raffles, food and a kids’ corner. Admission is $3 general or $2 for seniors.

FGP Explorers Series

Nov. 4, 10 a.m. to noon

Join Foundation for Geauga Parks for Rompin’ in Thompson with naturalist Dan Best. Explore the park and trails at Thompson Ledges Township Park, 16755 Thompson Road in Leroy Township.

Community Sunday Meal

St Luke Episcopal Church resumes its monthly community Sunday meal at the church located at 11519 Wilson Mills Road in Chardon. All are welcome.

Transgender Panel Discussion

Nov. 5, 2-4 p.m.

Geauga Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) Support Network is hosting a panel presentation and discussion titled “What is Transgender?” at the Bainbridge Public Library, 17222 Snyder Road. Panelists include a pediatric clinical psychologist, a gender nonconforming minister, a transgender individual and the parent of a transgender young adult.

Kristallnacht Candlelight Vigil

Nov. 9, 6 p. m.

Geauga County’s third annual candlelight vigil will be held on Chardon Square to commemorate the 85th anniversary of Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass. Organized by Mary Briggs, candles will be provided.

VFW Veterans Day Dinner

Nov. 10, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will host its annual free Veterans Day dinner for veterans and their families in the dining room of the canteen. Meal choice is Salisbury steak, butterflied shrimp or pork and sauerkraut dinner.

Donations Sought

Nov. 11, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Mayfield Church and Lake-Geauga Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore are teaming up to collect furniture, appliances and other items for the ReStore truck. The truck will be at the church located at 7747 Mayfield Road, Chester Township.

Gift Of the Magi Boutique

Nov. 11, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

St. Mark Lutheran Church, 11900 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township, is hosting its annual Gift for the Magi Christmas boutique featuring quality gift items by juried artists and crafters and a quilt raffle. Admission is free.

Join the Boutique Bounce by also shopping the boutiques of St. Anselm Church in Chester Township and Old South Church in Kirtland. Pick up a card at the first stop and have it stamped at each show for a chance to win one of three grand prizes.

St. Anselm Women’s Guild annual Christmas Boutique will be held at St. Anselm School, 13013 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. There will be handcrafted and unusual items for holiday shopping as well as a snack bar, bake sale and prize raffle.
