Geauga Young of Heart will meet at St. Anselm Church in Chester Township. Bring a brown bag lunch. Snacks and beverages are provided. Dan Karl will entertain the group with his keyboard, guitar and vocals.
January is the time to pay membership dues for the year.
If the West Geauga Schools are closed for snow days, the meeting is canceled. Members will not receive a call.
Learn About Invasive Plants

Genealogical Society Meets
Jan. 9, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Renowned genealogist Sunny Morton will present “A Wild Ride: Ohio River Travel in Stories and Songs” via Zoom at the next meeting of the Geauga County Genealogical Society. She will talk about her adventure floating down the Ohio River, reliving the experiences of ancestors in the early 1800s.

VFW Cabbage Rolls

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve homemade cabbage rolls every Wednesday in January at the post located at 752 Water St. in Chardon. The public is welcome. Call 440-285-3699 for carryout orders.
Gospel Hymn Sing

Bats Incredible

Geauga Soil and Water Conservation District hosts “Bats Incredible Creating a Bat Friendly Backyard” at Adam Hall, 11455 E. Washington St. in Auburn Township. Learn all about beneficial bats and ways to turn backyards into bat habitats. The family-friendly program will cover bat biology, natural history, bat myths and threats, gardening for bats, activities and more.
Special guests include Ohio’s bat professionals Marne Titchenell, extension wildlife program specialist, The Ohio State University; and Jamey Emmert, communication specialist, ODNR Ohio Division of Wildlife.
