Feathers and Fleece

On July 27, Feathers and Fleece 4-H Club members washed cars at the Chardon Tractor Supply. They greatly appreciate the support of Chardon community residents. Highlights of the day were washing a Tesla Cybertruck and a Chardon fire engine.

This summer, club members visited Maplewood Assisted Living with their poultry, including chickens, bantams and a duck. Everyone enjoyed hearing the residents’ stories about the livestock they used to raise earlier in life.

In the spring, a few members brought their rabbits to the West Geauga Library for “Books with Bunnies.” They were very excited to read to their furry friends. The club has also been helping with making blankets for veterans and yard clean-ups for senior citizens. (Submitted by Anna Chongris, news reporter)

Granny’s Kids

The Granny’s Kids 4-H Club held its family picnic meeting on Aug. 11. It was a beautiful day to be outside.

Katie, Mack and Trenton gave informational reports on their projects. Members have been collecting canned goods and $400 will be donated to a local charity.

This year’s theme is: “Hiding Out with Jr. Fair.” Club members are finishing up their projects. They are getting excited for the Great Geauga County Fair. (Submitted by Karolen Stoltz)

Little Porkers

The Little Porkers 4-H Club recently held a local car wash, lemonade stand and bake sale at Tractor Supply in Chardon. The club focuses on improving itself while also teaching the young members about bettering the community. Visit them at the Great Geauga County Fair. (Submitted by Cheyenne Humes)
