School-age kids will channel their inner chef in this introduction to homemade pasta making. Registration is required.
Craft Cupboard
Nov. 15, 2 p.m.
Adults will have fun making Christmas crafts to take home. Registration is required.
Inside Circle
Nov. 18, 6-7 p.m.
Develop music skills with RockAbility members. The group will use music therapy techniques to develop rhythm and melody skills. Adults with developmental disabilities and their caregivers are welcome. Bring an instrument or use one of the library’s. The program is in partnership with NPower Services.
Interplay, A Project
Nov. 29, 3:45-4:45 p.m.
Interplay is interactive, inclusive and fun for all ages of individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers. In partnership with NPower Services, participants will play by using their bodies, voices and words.
Kids’ Art Show
Oct. 31 – Nov. 29
The Burton Public Library Kids’ Art Show is a showcase of some of the best youth artwork in the Geauga area. More than 160 pieces of art are on display.
Gingerbread House Contest Display
Nov. 29 to Dec. 19
Patrons can submit their gingerbread houses in the child, teen, adult or group/family categories. Drop-off Dates are Nov. 25 and 26. Judging will take place on Nov. 27. There are first and second place prizes for each category. All houses will be on display until Dec. 19.
Country Hearth Christmas Ornament Creating
Nov. 29, 3 p.m.
Design an ornament to hang on the tree during a Country Hearth Christmas celebration. The tree lighting ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Limited supplies are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. No registration is required.
Independent Film Festival
Dec. 2, 6-7:45 p.m.
The library is accepting entries for its first Independent Film Festival. Geauga County residents of all ages are invited to submit short films of any genre—fiction, documentary, animation, etc.—as long as they are 15 minutes or shorter and rated PG-13. Films should be submitted in mp4 format via email to halcyon.domanski@burton.lib.oh.us, or on a memory stick delivered to the library by Nov. 15.
The free event includes popcorn and drinks, and all are welcome to attend.
