Meet Your Representatives
On April 8, Hambden Township will host a “Get to Know your Representative Night.” Senator Capri Cafaro, Congressman David Joyce, Sen. John Ecklund and state Rep. John Patterson will be at Hambden Township Hall at 6:30 p.m.
They will be discussing issues of local importance such as fracking, roads and bridges, school funding and taxes. They would all like to meet Hambden residents and answer any questions they might have.
Township hall is located at 13887 GAR Highway, next to Hambden Elementary School.
Fire Dept. Easter Egg Hunt
Hambden Township Fire Department will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt beginning at 10 a.m. March 30, rain or shine, at the township park. There will be prizes and candy everywhere for toddlers through 10-year-old kids.
The hunt begins at 10:05 a.m. for toddlers 3 and under; 10:10 a.m. for children ages 4 to 6; and about 10:15 a.m. for children 7 and over.
Thank go out to the fire department for sponsoring this event again this year.
Help Needed
Residents are needed to serve on the Hambden Township Audit Committee and Zoning Board of Appeals. Anyone interested in receiving more information concerning these positions is encouraged to call the township hall between 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 440-286-4364. Mary Ann or Lauri will be glad to provide all the information.
Newsletters
The township newsletters, Hambden Highlights, have finally arrived. Anyone who did not receive a copy may call Mary Ann or Lauri at the township hall to have one sent out and to be put on the mailing list.
Spring Trash Day
Because of the move of the date of the Maple Festival to the last weekend in April, Spring Trash Day has been moved up to the third Saturday in April. On April 20, residents may bring all of their accumulated “trash” to the township park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The township cannot take garbage, yard waste, hazardous chemicals or paint that is not dried in the can. Appliances do not have to have the Freon removed. Electronics will not be accepted; however, there is a computer recycling container at the park year round.
Tire recycling will be offered; no commercial truck or tractor tires. All tires must be removed from the rims.
Shredding will not be offered this spring.
For more information, call the township hall at 440-286-4364.
