Snow Plowing

Road Superintendent Dave Heald wishes to remind residents that when they plow their snow, they need to keep it on their property.

Do not plow it across the road and leave half of it in the roadway. This practice makes it dangerous for other drivers and when plowing across the road, one often blocks the way to the neighbor’s mailbox. If any obstructions are left in the road, it is not safe and is against the law.

Township Hall Rentals

The township hall is a pretty popular place. Most weekends, residents are using it for various functions. One must be a Hambden resident to rent the hall.

The cost to rent the hall is $25 and renters will need to leave a $100 security deposit. The deposit will refunded as long as residents clean up after their events and take their trash away.

There is a list of regulations that need to be reviewed and signed before a rental can be approved. The hall cannot be rented for any functions that are for profit (i.e. classes for which the person renting the hall is charging for.)

Hambden officials are very proud of the township hall and glad that so many residents are able to use it for important family events and group meetings.

Township Meetings

In 2013, township meetings will remain on the first and third Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the township hall.

This year’s chairman will be Keith McClintock. Ed Kaminski will serve as vice chairman.

Mr. McClintock will serve as liaison to zoning and the park. Mr. Kaminski will be liaison to the fire department and for roads and Mrs. Pope will oversee the township hall and cemetery. Any decisions concerning these areas are always made by the entire board, but it helps to have a couple of areas to give an extra level of attention to so we can report back to the other board members.

Please remember that all residents are always welcome at our meetings. This is your township and we value your input.

The Zoning Commission will meet on the first Monday of each month and BZA as needed. All meeting dates and times are posted on the sign in front of the township hall.
