Teachers Participate in Co-Teaching Training
Teachers at the junior/senior high school that participate in co-teaching as an approach to providing students with instruction in general education classrooms with supports participated in a two-day training on Feb. 4 and 5. The training was provided and facilitated by an instructor from California University 2Teach Program.
The teachers received training and instruction in the philosophy and implementation of various co-teaching strategies and approaches. They also had opportunities to plan for the specific instruction and implementation of co-teaching specific to their subject areas and co-teaching classrooms to more effectively meet the individual and collective educational needs of the students.
They were provided with direct feedback from the facilitator. The school plans to continue to support the program through common planning and discussions integrated into the Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings and through continued and ongoing feedback and guidance from the facilitator through webinars and Skype.
