MathCounts Club

On Feb. 16, the Berkshire MathCounts Club competed at Cleveland State University against six other teams. The teams included Hawken, St. Albert, Brecksville, Incarnate Word Academy, Independence and Birchwood.

Competing from Berkshire were seventh and eighth-graders Molly Emig, Ellen Adams, Logan Byler, Nick Romask and Karsten Bergmeier. Congratulations.

Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten registration will be held at Burton Elementary School on March 13 from 47 p.m. and March 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Burton Elementary office. Children must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1 in order to register for kindergarten.

It is very important that the child’s immunization records are current, as the school must have a copy of those records in order for a child to attend kindergarten. Parents are encouraged to get their child a physical and dental appointment before school begins to make sure that the child gets off to the best possible start.

The school must have the following required documents at the time of kindergarten registration in order to register a child for kindergarten:

Registration fee of $40 made payable to Berkshire Local Schools; copy of the child’s social security card; copy of the child’s birth certificate; copy of current immunization records; custody agreements, if applicable; proof of residency (current copy of utility bill, copy of lease or deed); and registration paperwork.
