Chardon UMC Sunday Services
Chardon United Methodist Church will hold two special services on Aug. 4. Both services will include the Sacrament of Holy Communion.
Pastor Diane DeVall will preach at the 8:45 a.m. sanctuary service. Her message will be geared especially for worship in the sanctuary with its unique gifts and architecture.
Pastor Paul Hagan will preach at the 10 a.m. STRUCK service, continuing his game series with a message from the game of Monopoly.
The church is located at 515 North St. in Chardon.
Free Night of Music
Zemer Levav will perform at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at Chardon Christian Fellowship. Zemer Levav, pronounced (ZEM-er Leh-VAHV), are the Hebrew words, Song of the Heart.
Blending ethnic and folk with both modern and ancient Biblical instruments, the band introduces the listener to a fresh and vibrant sound. It worships the God of Israel and His Messiah with dancing, harp and lyre, flutes and hand drums and singing the Psalms with King David.
The free event is open to the public. The church is located at 401 South Hambden St. in Chardon.
Treasure Seekers VBS
From Aug. 5-9, children 3 years old through fifth-grade are invited to join First Congregational Church of Claridon and Lighthouse United Methodist Church for Treasure Seekers kids adventure camp, a vacation Bible school at First Congregational Church, 13942 Mayfield Road. The camp runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Campers will enjoy songs, games, crafts and snacks while searching for treasure in the Bible.
A combined church service at 10 a.m. Aug. 11 at Lighthouse Methodist Church will showcase the treasures that have been found.
