Memorial Day Observance

Hambden Township will hold its annual Memorial Day parade and observance May 26. The parade will begin at 9 a.m.

The parade marshal will be Mrs. Cifaglione from Poppa C’s convenience store. Mrs. C. has been an important part of the community for many years and this is a wonderful opportunity for residents to show her how much everyone appreciates all she has done for Hambden.

The parade lines up about 8:45 a.m. behind Mrs. C’s plaza. All Hambden children are invited to decorate their wagons and bikes for the parade, as well as all Hambden sports teams and 4-H clubs.

Please call the township hall at 440-286-4364 to join in the parade.

Hambden resident and Geauga County Commissioner Blake Rear will be the guest speaker at Hambden Congregational Church. Bill Gertz will once again be reading the names of the Hambden veterans at the township park, and the fire department will be cooking pancakes for everyone after the observance.

Township Hall Rental

The township hall is available to Hambden residents to rent at a cost of $25 per day. Identification is required.

There is also a security deposit required when picking up the building key. This deposit is returned as long as the renter removes the trash from the premises and leaves the building as it was found. A signed rental agreement is required to secure a date of use.

If anyone is interested in renting the township hall for an event, please call the office at 440-286-4364 or stop in to check for availability. Please note that no smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted in the facility.

Hambden Community Picnic

The Bondstown Bash, Hambden’s community picnic, will take place Aug. 10 from 1-5 p.m. There will be live music, a Chinese auction, games, prizes and food. Banjo the Clown will once again be entertaining everyone with his magic and awesome balloon creations.

Any local business owner who would like to make a donation to the Chinese auction can contact the township hall at 440-286-4364. In addition, the planning committee is always looking for baskets to use for auction items. To donate an item, just give us a call or drop it off.

Be sure to come and join in on the fun.
