Township Meetings

At Munson Township Hall: Sept. 9, Board of Trustees, 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 9, Park & Recreation Board, 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 18, Board of Zoning Appeals, 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 22, Zoning Commission, 7 p.m.

All township meetings are open to the public. The Board of Trustees meetings have a time-slot on the agenda for public comment, pro or con, regarding the township. Meeting dates are subject to change and can be verified by visiting www.munsontwp.com or by calling the office, 440-286-9255.

All township offices will be closed Sept. 1 in observance of Labor Day.

Outreach Volunteers Needed

The Geauga County Public Library is seeking volunteers to deliver books to homebound residents as well as those in nursing homes. Volunteers choose books based on the individual’s interests and visit at a mutually convenient time.

At the Senior Center

Volunteers are needed to help with meal deliveries from the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive in Munson, to disabled, homebound seniors, Monday through Friday, with a choice of routes and days.

Volunteers are able to deliver lunch to 10 to 15 seniors in a one and a half to two-hour shifts. Drivers must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver’s license.

To volunteer, call the Geauga County Department on Aging at 440-279-2130.

The Good Times Band invites musicians of all levels to join the fun with the group every Wednesday from 12:30-2 p.m. at the Chardon Senior Center. For more information, call 440-279-2130.

If one is not going to Senior Day on Aug. 29 at the Geauga County Fair, the Chardon Senior Center will be open during regular hours.

Free Sunday Dinner

St. Luke Episcopal Church, 11519 Wilson Mills Road, Munson, will offer a free Sunday dinner on Sept. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Fellowship Room. There will be a choice of soups, breads and desserts. Donations are appreciated, but not necessary. To help prepare or serve the dinner, or for more information, call 440-285-4641.

WomenSafe Fashion Show

WomenSafe will host “Black and White Couture; The Fashion Show” Sept. 28 from noon to 3 p.m. at Acacia Reservation, 26899 Cedar Road in Lyndhurst. The fashion show will be narrated by Dr. Connie Korosec, professor and fashion chair at Ursuline College in Pepper Pike.

In addition to delicious food, there will be Chinese and silent auctions. Tickets are $38 per person or a table of eight at $308. Reservations are due no later than Sept. 12.

Proceeds benefit the services and shelter offered to victims of domestic violence at The Green House on Ravenna Road.

CASA Dancing For Kids

Reservations are now available for the Friends of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Dancing For Kids fund-raiser taking place Oct. 18 at Renaissance Cleveland Hotel. A spin-off on the popular TV show, “Dancing With the Stars,” the event will feature local personalities, Clint Fowler of Fairmount Minerals, Geauga County Probate/Juvenile Judge Timothy J. Grendell, TV personalities and instructors from the Alpha Dance Studio.
