Trick or Treat

As its usual policy, Hambden Township follows what Chardon sets as its date for trick or treat. It will be held on Oct. 31 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Please be sure all of the little ghosts and goblins are careful when trick or treating on Hambden’s country roads. The developments seem like a much better option for gathering candy and having fun. Have a safe and scary Halloween.

Welcome Redigo

Trustees welcome Mike Patel and his newly opened Redigo Convenience Store to Hambden. He has recently leased the store previously known as Poppa C’s from Mrs. Cianfaglione and is making many changes and adding new products.

Once again, the gas pumps are up and running and the store is fully stocked and ready for customers. Please stop in and welcome Mike and his employees to Hambden Plaza. We will hopefully have more information in the next township newsletter.

Fire Dept. Clam/Steak Bake

Hambden Fire Department will hold its second and final clam and steak bake of the season on Oct. 18 from 7-8:30 p.m. Dinner is $25 per person and includes a dozen clams or steak, half a chicken, two ears of corn, sweet potatoes and a

beverage. Cost is $25. Extra steak or dozen clams can be purchased for an additional $10.

Tickets can be purchased from any Hambden firefighter or by calling the nonemergency phone number at the station, 440-285-332

Call 440-285-3329 for reservations.

Crack Sealing Of Roads

Crack sealing is always an ongoing project and it is very difficult to complete all roads needing it in one season with just a two-person road crew.

This year, Hambden has joined forces with the Geauga County Engineer’s Road Department to try to complete all needed crack sealing, using its state of the art equipment and some additional labor.

The last couple of weeks of good weather could not have been more ideal for the project, which is well on its way to completion.

New Walking Trail

Be sure to check out the newly extended walking trail at the township park. Through the efforts of the park board and Trustee Keith McClintock, the township applied for and received a NatureWorks grant that offset much of the cost of the trail.

The road crew provided the sweat equity and now Hambden has a completed project that can truly benefit its residents. Come take a walk while the weather is still beautiful and enjoy fall in Hambden.
