Government

Trustee meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 7 p.m. at the town hall. The next meeting is Nov. 4.

All township meetings are open to the public and residents are encouraged to attend. Call 440-636-5486 for more details.

Trick Or Treat

Trick or treat night for Huntsburg Township is Nov. 1 from 5-7 p.m. Residents wishing to have their homes visited are asked to leave a porch or outside light on. Children are asked to stop only at homes with lights on.

Children are welcome to attend the costume contest hosted by the Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department at the Middlefield Fire Station at 7 p.m.

Fire Department

The Middlefield Volunteer Fire Department would like to remind Huntsburg residents that it has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors available at no charge. It will also install the detectors for residents.

The free program is available through a grant the fire department received. For more information, call the non-emergency number 440-632-1907.

Recycle

Bring all unwanted catalogs, phone books, newspapers, school and office papers, magazines, paperback books and junk mail to the recycle bin at Huntsburg Recreation Park. Cardboard is now accepted.

Do not leave unwanted items that are not recyclable at the park-recycling site.

Daylight-Saving Time

When do we change the clocks?

Most of the United States begins daylight-saving time at 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and then reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November. It will be time to fall back on Nov. 2 at 2 a.m.

The fire department reminds residents to change the batteries in all smoke detectors at this time.
