Destination Imagination
On March 7, third- and fourth-grade challenge students participated in the Destination Imagination Tournament at Hiram College. At the tournament, teams demonstrated their problem solving and teamwork skills by performing skits and participating in an instant challenge activity.
Destination Imagination is a program that encourages students to learn patience, flexibility, respect for others and the collaborative learning process while having fun. Congratulations go to the fourth-grade team, the Lightning Lions, which placed third at the tournament.
GCCTM Math Contest
On March 7, NDES seventh- and eighth-grade students participated in the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Math (GCCTM) Problem Solving Tournament, which focused on working together to solve math problems. The goal of the GCCTM Problem Solving Tournament is to promote enthusiasm for math, challenge students in an energizing setting and celebrate community-wide achievements of these young mathematicians.
