Music Department Tag Day
Chardon Schools choir and band members will be going door-to-door in the school district on May 9 asking for donations to help promote the music and band programs in the district. Students will be wearing their band uniforms or red and black.
The funds raised will be used by Crescendo Club to help supplement the needs of the music and band programs throughout the district. Funds raised help to purchase sheet music, uniforms, instruments, instrument repairs and general program costs. All donations are welcome and appreciated.

State Science Olympiad
Chardon’s Science Olympiad team competed in the State Science Olympiad finals at Ohio State University on April 11, where the Division B team took sixth place and Division C placed fifth. Both Chardon teams qualified for the state finals after competing in the regional event held at Case Western Reserve University in February.
Forty teams from Ohio competed in 23 events. For each event, two students are selected to compete together for the team. At competition, they demonstrate their knowledge in areas of Earth-space sciences, life sciences and physical sciences. The students bring machines, bridges, gliders and bottle rockets that they have designed and built to demonstrate practical application of math and science concepts.
Science Olympiad is a non-profit, founded in 1984 and dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female and minority interest in science, creating a technologically literate workforce and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers.
“It is fabulous to see what it does for students’ confidence, friendships and career building,” says Dr. Anne Clouser, head coach for Chardon Science Olympiad for the past 19 years. This is the 19th year that Dr. Clouser’s Chardon team has qualified for the state competition held at OSU in Columbus.
