Middlefield Chamber Open House

Join on the lawn of the Middlefield Chamber of Commerce at 16014 E. High St., Middlefield, right across the street from the VFW and Post Office, for an open house on July 12 at noon.

Everyone is invited to stop in for some light refreshments of grilled hot dogs and brats, and to meet the clown from the Kelly Miller Circus, who will stop in to promote the July 29 and July 30 shows. Meet the members, find out about the Middlefield chamber, its upcoming events, plans and purpose.

Take a chance on the “Guess How Many Peanuts are in the Jar” contest to win a prize. RSVP, if possible, to the Middlefield Chamber at mccinfo@middlefieldcc.com by July 5.

A rain date set if needed on July 21 at noon.

Circus is Coming to Middlefield

The Kelly Miller Circus is coming to Middlefield at the Cardinal Middle School grounds on Almeda Drive on July 29 and 30, at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Everyone is invited to come out and watch the animals being unloaded and fed, witness the raising of the giant big top and join for a special tiger “meet and greet.” Activities will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the tent will be raised at 9 a.m. Guides will be furnished for school groups and anyone attending.

Support the Middlefield Chamber of Commerce by purchasing your tickets in advance and save.

Come out and enjoy a day of fun-filled excitement at the circus. Advance tickets are available at ticket outlets throughout Middlefield — Huntington Bank, both Middlefield and Burton banks, The Fig Tree, Hilltop Variety inside Harrington Square Mall, Merryfield Electric, Save-A-Lot, Nauvoo Family Market, Ferroni’s Allegro Cafe and Bistro, Middlefield Banking Co. (both main and west branch). The circus set-up starting at 7:30 a.m. on July 29 is available to groups such as preschools, camps, Vacation Bible School, etc. Bring a blanket or chair to be comfortable while you watch.

Kiwanis Club Reverse Raffle

The Kiwanis Club of Geauga County is hosting a Reverse Raffle at the Middlefield Market Pavilion on Aug. 1 to benefit the Next Step Program.

The Next Step Program is a community-based program focusing on young adults between the ages of 18 to 24. Next Step services are available to young adults who have been emancipated from foster care or who experienced crime, homelessness or who lack a stable support system. The program helps to house the young adults. The Kiwanis Club is looking for sponsors. Tickets are $125 per couple and $75 per person. Each ticket will include a chance on the $4,000 board, one drink ticket and hors d’oevres.

A cash bar will be available as well as other sideboards and a Chinese Auction. Contact the Middlefield Chamber of Commerce to get more details and contact information.

Chamber Golf Outing

Register now for the fourth annual Middlefield Chamber of Commerce Golf Outing, Aug. 28, 9 a.m., at the Grandview Golf Course.

Deadline to register is Aug. 21.

Cost is $75 per person or $300 per team. The event includes Skins Games, Proximity Games, Long Drive Contests, prizes for first, second and third places, and a door prize for all players. Registration is 7:30-9 a.m. four person scramble format, lunch at the turn. Dinner will follow golf inside Bistro 608. You can also be a sponsor for this event, hole sponsor, dinner sponsor, cart sponsors and beer cart sponsors.

Annual Trunk Sale

Join in the Giant Eagle parking lot in Middlefield for the annual trunk sale on Aug. 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Shoppers have free admission. To get a vendor agreement for space, call the Middlefield chamber at 440-632-5705 or mccinfo@middlefieldcc.com.

Spaces are $20 each or $35 for two spaces. Each space is a premarked parking space, keep your car at your space and sell from your trunk or bring your own set up equipment. You will need to bring your own table, chairs and tent covering with tent leg weights. Set up is on pavement. Rain or shine.
