Meth Lab Busted

Geauga County Sheriff’s Office detective and the Bainbridge Police Department conducted a drug investigation July 15 at 8834 South Spring Valley Park Drive in Bainbridge Township.

Detectives executed a search warrant on the residence and uncovered a methamphetamine lab.

Elia M. Milite owns the 1,144- square-foot home, according to the Geauga County Auditor’s Office.

Nichole M. Milite, 28, who resides at the residence was arrested for manufacturing of methamphetamine, a second-degree felony.

Milite’s roommate, Angela L. Gordeev, 27, of Garfield Heights, was arrested for possession of chemicals, a third-degree felony.

Both women were be arraigned in Chardon Municipal Court on July 16. Details of their arraignments were not available on the court’s docket.

Fatal Crash in Troy

The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Chardon Post is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Nash Road at Mumford Road at approximately 11:25 a.m. July 16.

Marilyn Finnie, of Mayfield Village, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Impala eastbound on Nash when she failed to stop at a posted stop sign.

A 2015 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Cassandra McDougall, of Garrettsville, was headed northbound on Mumford and struck Finnie’s vehicle.

Finnie, who was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash, was transported to University Hospital Geauga Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.

McDougall also was transported to UH Geauga Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash as well.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in either crash.

Auto Title Office Hours

The Geauga County Clerk of Courts Auto Title Office will no longer remain open late on Monday, starting Sept. 14, Clerk of Courts Denise M. Kaminski said.

The new office hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Passport processing is available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
