With the Arts
The Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) will soon be holding its organizational meeting for next year’s monthly calendar featuring guest artists who would like to display and speak about their work. If interested, call Joanne Durante, 440-729-6481.
The Geauga Council for Arts & Culture (GCAC) organizes art shows at varying locations throughout Geauga County, such as University Hospitals, YMCA and Geauga Park District. Artists can also sell their artwork at these shows. GCAC exhibits are organized by Bev Krueger who can be reached at 440-285-9657.
Annual Fishing Derby
Munson Township will hold its annual Fishing Derby Sept. 12, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Scenic River Retreat on Mayfield Road just east of Fowlers Mill Road.
Bring fishing poles; bait will be provided. Prizes will be awarded to varying age groups of children and adults for number of fish caught.

At The Senior Center
A Geauga Park District naturalist will speak on summer wildflowers Sept. 14 from 12:45-2 p.m. at the Chardon Senior Center, 12555 Ravenwood Drive, Munson. Reservations are not necessary.
Also, at the Chardon Senior Center, a birthday bash honoring September’s seniors will be held Sept. 16 from 12-1 p.m. There will be cake, ice cream and music. For reservations, call the senior center at 440-279-2130.
Chardon Toastmasters Club
The Chardon Toastmasters Club offers a free invitation to its area contest Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Western Reserve Land Conservancy office, 102C East Park St., Chardon. It is an entertaining contest of the funniest speakers.

WomenSafe Benefit
Tickets are now available for a relaxing afternoon with WomenSafe and host Danita Harris, of News Channel 5, on Sept. 27 from 12-3:30 p.m. at Acacia Reservation, 26899 Cedar Road, Lyndhurst. There will be delicious food, a fashion show, Chinese and silent auctions and more. Music will be provided by Troubadours and Divine Bliss.
