Youth Theatre Presents ‘Snow White’

Nov. 20, 7:30 p.m.

Nov. 21-22, 2 p.m.

Fairmount Center for the Arts Youth Theatre Lab will present “Snow White” at The Mayfield Village Civic Center.

Snow White, played by Kaylee Tomsich of Bainbridge, runs away from her evil stepmother, the Queen, played by Kaitlyn Magalski of Chester Township, and finds herself taking care of eight comical dwarfs, played by Madysen Treharne of Burton, Andra Usis of Chester, Jordyn Ladd of Auburn, Ella Stec of Chagrin Falls, Charlotte Jons of Munson, Maria Insana of Auburn, Addison Altmann of Bainbridge and Ellie Calder of South Russell. The cast of 23 also includes Sarah Hill of Chagrin Falls as the sarcastic mirror, and Theo Jons of Munson as the handsome Prince.

The production is directed by Patti Susman, with musical direction by Joan Bendix and choreography by Merlynne Hancock. Tickets are $8. For more information and tickets, call Fairmount Center at 440-338-3171.

Chagrin Falls Nutcracker Tea

Nov. 21, 4:30 p.m.

Fairmount Center for the Arts presents The Chagrin Falls Nutcracker Tea at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 at the Chagrin Falls Performing Arts Center, 400 E. Washington St. in Chagrin Falls.

The show will feature performances by Fairmount Dance Theater, Fairmount Spanish Dancers, Kinderdancers and Verb Ballets. A complimentary tea with the performers will be held after the show.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $11 for students and seniors and $6 for children ages of 3-12. Children under 3 are free.

WomenSafe Theater Party

Nov. 29, 2 p.m.

The matinee performance of “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” at the Chagrin Valley Little Theater is a benefit hosted by Friends of WomenSafe. The lobby will open at 1 p.m. for a gift certificate raffle. Complimentary refreshments will be served during intermission.

Words and Wine

Dec. 1, 6:30 p.m.

Roger Craik, associate professor of English at KSU Ashtabula, will be the featured poet at Your Vine or Mine, 154 Main St., Painesville. An English born author of three full-length poetry books, he has previously worked as a journalist, TV critic and chess columnist.

Words and Wine is a monthly poetry reading series. All who wish may share their original poems at open mic; one to three poems up to five minutes.

Geauga Hunger Task Force Benefit Planned

Dec. 5-6

The Good Tidings Benefit Choir is once again going to perform their musical magic for the community Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. at the Notre Dame Cathedral Educational Center Chapel, 13000 Auburn Road in Munson.

Celebrating its 26th year, the popular program raises money through goodwill offerings for the Geauga Hunger Task Force, which consists of seven emergency food pantries throughout the county.

The Good Tidings choir will be performing many Christmas selections, including a portion of GF Handel’s “Messiah.” Also performing will be Pilgrim Brass on both days, The Madison Chorale on Saturday and Nada Clue barbershop quartet on Sunday.

Admission is free, but a goodwill offering will be collected. Reservations are not necessary.
