‘Lion King Jr.’
Hakuna Matata. Drama Club members, under the direction of David Malinowski, presented the play “Lion King Jr” April 8-10.
Students brought to life the epic adventure of a curious cub named Simba with the use of energetic choreography, talented acting along with colorful costume designs and makeup.
In partnership with the Fine Arts Association, the NDES Drama club consists of 48 student actors from grades 3-8 and is one of the many extracurricular clubs available at school.
Test Tube Division
Fourth-grade students learn the fundamentals of long division with test tubes and beads. Not every child learns in the same manner, therefore, NDES employs many different teaching strategies – progressive and traditional – to reinforce required concepts. The use of manipulative materials has been proven to be a best practice in mathematics instruction.
Pittsburgh Field Trip
On April 11, seventh-grade students experienced the treasures of Pittsburgh on a daylong trip. Featured highlights were the Duquesne Incline, Heinz Field, Heinz History Center and the Carnegie Science Center.
