CMS Drama Club Presents ‘Bullies Anonymous’

May 3, 7 p.m.

May 7, 2 p.m.

The Chardon Middle School Drama Club sponsored by the Geauga Lyric Theater education department will present its spring musical, “Bullies Anonymous,” at the Geauga Theater, 101 Water St., Chardon. The performances are open to the public for a suggested donation of $2 for students, $5 for adults or $10 per family.

The cast of 27 middle school students will host special performances on May 6 for Park, Maple, Hambden and St. Mary elementary schools. “Bullies Anonymous,” written by Ron Fink and John Heath, is presented by special permission from Bad Wolf Press of California under the direction of Karen Porter and Julie Douglass.

Students from the targeted schools were invited to participate in an essay contest on the topic of bullying. The selected winners will read their essay in a special show cameo. The cast plans on conducting a post show question and answer session with youth to reinforce the messages of the show. Activity booklets and stickers will be sent home with the student audience to encourage conversations at home on this important social issue.

No reservations are being taken for the show; tickets will be available at the door. For more information, visit www.geaugatheater.org
