East Shore Unitarian Universalist Church, 10848 Chillicothe Road, Kirtland, offers free community meals at noon on the fourth Saturday of every month. September’s lunch features baked potato skin, bacon and cheddar soup followed by brat sandwiches, sides and dessert.

Tickets are now on sale for Geauga Growth Partnership’s fourth annual HomeGrown Geauga fundraising event at the Federated Family Life Center, 16349 Chillicothe Road, Bainbridge Township.
The evening features fine food by signature chefs, open bar, entertainment, music by the Don Disantis Band, a farmers market and takeaways.

Christmas In The Barn

The sixth annual Christmas in the Barn at Fullercrest craft show and sale will take place Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 6415 Windsor Mechanicsville Road in Orwell.
The sale features craft artisans, gifts and commercial vendors.
Entry fee is $2. Parking is free.

KOC Pancake Breakfast
Sept. 25, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Knights of Columbus St. Mary Parish Council 15942 of Chardon is hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast in the cafeteria.
Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 6-12. Kids 5 and under are free.
Breakfast includes all-you-can eat buttermilk, blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, sausage and bacon.
Proceeds will benefit Right-To-Life, seminarian and other Catholic community values.
Crop Walk for Hunger
Sept. 25
The Greg Weemhoff Crop Walk for Hunger will take place at the Geauga County Fairgrounds in Burton, starting at Merchant Hall 2.
Registration is 1:30 p.m., with the walkers setting out at 1:45 p.m. on a four-mile route through Burton Village.
Twenty-five percent of the funds raised will stay in Geauga County to support the Geauga Hunger Task Force. The remaining funds are administered by Church World Service to provide people around the globe with food and clean water.

Leaves of Change Luncheon

Hamlet Village Retirement Community and Friends of WomenSafe are partnering to host a fall luncheon, “Leaves of Change,” at the Hamlet Atrium, 200 Hamlet Hills Drive in Chagrin Falls.
Enjoy wine and buy raffle tickets for gift certificates, jewelry and specialty baskets. Lunch will be served at noon, followed with a brief talk by Andrea Gutka, executive director of WomenSafe. Event also includes a medley of Broadway show tunes.

Let’s Talk Series

Terri McIntee, candidate for District 76 state representative, will facilitate the Let’s Talk Series topic: “Water: Short-term Risks and Long-term Benefits” at the Bainbridge Public Library, 17222 Snyder Road.
Expert Dr. Tim Barber will discuss water-related issues, including scarcity, climate change, pollution, drinking water, conservation and restoration. He will explore the role of industry, governments and private citizens in providing affordable clean water for current and future generations.

Food Pantry Open

The Food Pantry at Chester Christian Center church will be open to the community. The pantry is open to anyone who is in need of food. You do not need to be a member of the church to come to the pantry.

Cystic Fibrosis Auction

Brandi’s Rainbow is hosting the 13th annual Cystic Fibrosis Auction at Cardinal Middle School, 16175 Almeda Drive in Middlefield
Doors open at 3 p.m. with the auction starting at 5 p.m. Auction features more than 300 items.

Fall Fest

Fall Fest will be held on Chardon Square. The evening will include s’mores, sponsored by the Chardon Area Rotary; scarecrow making, sponsored by the Chardon Area Kiwanis; a balloon artist, sponsored by the Chardon Square Association; and DJ music, sponsored by the City of Chardon. In addition, there will be free hot dogs, hot chocolate and pastries, sponsored by Sheetz.

DTJ Chicken And Duck Dinner

GCRTA Luncheon

The Geauga County Retired Teachers Association will hold its luncheon meeting at Grand River Cellars, 5750 Madison Road in Madison. Gathering time will be followed by the business meeting at 11:30 a.m. and lunch at noon. The menu will consist of marinated chicken and sides.
Guest speaker is Judge Terri Stupica, of the Chardon Municipal Court, who will present “A Hot Topic” program.

Geauga Radio Controlaires is hosting the fifth annual Jim Gardner Memorial RC Model Swap Meet at the Mentor Beach Park Pavilion, 7779 Lakeshore Blvd. in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
Eighty exhibitor tables of radio controlled planes, helicopters, quadcopters, cars, boats, radios, tools and accessories will be displayed for sale, barter and trade by regional modelers.
