NDES Brings “Outsiders” to Life
As a part the English language arts curriculum, eighth-grade honors English students are cast as members from the novel, “The Outsiders.” While holding a still shot, a narrator provides a backdrop of this significant scene and its importance to the plot of the story. This project allows students to go beyond the book and reinforce critical thinking skills.
Music Class on the Grass
Second-grade students experience the beauty of the rural campus at NDES with music class on the grass. With the song “Going on a Picnic,” students learn basic music skills such as singing pitch, echoing scale tones and gain confidence with solo singing.
NDES Gets up Close with Nature
Fifth-grade science students began the Geauga Park District’s Nature Scopes Binocular Nature Education Program and then explored the NDES campus with their binoculars. The program compliments NDES’s outstanding hands-on science and STEM program.
Students will participate in six interactive sessions involving outdoor exploration. In May, the sessions will conclude and students will be awarded their own binoculars.
