ODE Honors West G Schools
Ohio’s State Board of Education has issued the 2016 Momentum Award to three West Geauga schools. Westwood Elementary School, Robert C. Lindsey Elementary School and West Geauga Middle School were all informed of the honor in letters received from Thomas Gunlock, president of the State Board of Education.
In the letter, Gunlock states, “The Momentum Award recognizes schools that have received A’s on every value-added measure included on the 2016 Ohio School Report Card.” He notes furthermore, “Your report card for the 2015-2016 school year indicates that your pupils made greater than expected progress in reading and mathematics.”
West Geauga Superintendent Rich Markwardt notes, “The Momentum Awards are a great honor for the schools and for the West Geauga community. They show what can be accomplished when students, parents, teachers, and administrators work together and support each other. I am appreciative of the building leadership of principals Denise Brewster, Ron Dahlhofer and Jim Kish; the dedication and work of the teachers; the efforts of the parents; the engagement of our students; and the ongoing support of the West Geauga community and the West G Board of Education.”
RC Lindsey Presents Shrek
Robert C. Lindsey Elementary School presents “Shrek the Musical Jr.” Nov. 18 at 6:30 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Based on the DreamWorks Animation motion picture and book by William Steig, R.C. Lindsey’s production is directed by Deanna Harrison with assistant director MaryAnn Rodin, producer Andrea Milnar and producer Kristen Moore.
