Members of the Flockmasters 4-H Club have been busy this summer, combining fun with service and preparation for the upcoming Great Geauga County Fair.
At recent meetings, the group came together to make blankets for veterans, a project that left everyone feeling proud to give back to those who served. Along with their community work, the club has enjoyed a potluck picnic with time fishing and swimming, making memories together outside the barn. They voted on Junior Fair King and Queen, prepped buyer boards and cage signs. The members also spent time practicing a quality interaction with livestock sale buyers utilizing eye contact, a firm handshake and well thought out statements.
With fair just around the corner, excitement is building as members look forward to showcasing their projects and hard work. The Junior Fair Livestock Sale is Aug. 29 at 2:30 p.m. for small animals and Aug. 30 at 4 p.m. for large animals. Club members look forward to seeing everyone at the fair.
