Breeders and Feeders is one of the largest 4-H groups in Geauga County, with 60 members and eight advisors. The project list that is offered from the club is a big one that includes market beef, market swine, market goat, market poultry, market rabbits, as well as pet and breeding projects. Breeders-n-Feeders had over 90 entries in the 2018 Great Geauga County Fair. The projects teach members responsibility and dedication as well as keeping them very busy during the summer months.
The Breeders and Feeders 4-H Club held a meeting on Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. the Munson Town Hall. All of the new officers assumed their duties including president Leah Fine; co-vice presidents Mike Soltis and Sarah Skytta; secretary Emily Skytta; corresponding secretary Macy Tucker; treasurer Jake Grindstead; roll call recorder Isaac Hutchinson; news reporter Morgan Csontos; historian Haylee Taylor; photographers Avery Taylor, Seth Kellogg and Delanna Kellogg; health chairman Zach Vandevander; safety chairmen Cooper Jochum and Ethan McCaskey; recreation director Reilly Jochum; sunshine Thomas Skytta; community service officer Brook Taylor; co-secretary Rachel O’Reilly; junior fairboard reporter Garrett Hastings; opening and closing officers Jeremy Bosher and Kole Fabiny; and sergeant of arms Issac Hutchinson.
First, the club introduced all of its new members. All the officers gave their reports. The club discussed important dates on the 4-H calendar including the enrollment deadline for 4-H on April 12, quality assurance on May 4 and Skillathon on July 20. The annual roller skating party at Chagrin Roller Rink will be after the March meeting.
The club has decided to collect donations for the Red Tulip Project, a project to operate a sober house in Geauga County that provides resources and promote healing for people with addictions. A list of donations can be found on the club’s Facebook page. Donations will be due at the next meeting.

Braided-N-Banded
The Braided-n-Banded equine 4-H club met for their regular meeting Feb. 14 at Chelsea Nau Performance Horses (CNPH) in Huntsburg. All the new officers assumed their duties including president Hannah Rus; vice president Jeanette Baker; secretaries Reagyn Beckwith and Halley Nau; treasurers Allie Gaskill and Marley Grandini; health and safety, Hadleigh Humphreys, Maddie Pucell and Carly Schwartz; recreation Morgan Schultz and Carly Schwartz; community service, Olivia DeFranco and Maddie Pucell; news reporters Morgan Csontos and Kamryn Foutty; and photographer Kailyn Foutty.
All officers gave their reports and discussed all the upcoming important dates: May 4 is the kickoff clinic at Geauga County Fairgrounds. The 2019 show schedule is as follows: May 25, June 9, July 13 and Aug. 4 – all shows will be at the Geauga County Fair Grounds in Burton.
Braided-n-Banded voted in favor of donating $100 this year to Family-A-Fair. Family–A-Fair helps in need families have a fun day at the fair with admission tickets, food tickets and ride tickets.
