Geauga Beef and Swine

On Nov. 8, Geauga County Beef & Swine 4-H Cub had its first meeting of the 2020-21 year in preparation for 2021 fair. All members would like to thank their buyers for purchasing their 2020 market project. Thank you to the Fair Board for making 2020 the best it could be.

The first meeting for a new year means members introduce themselves to everyone, elect new board members, assign committees, hand out folders and are assigned project topics. Members are happy to introduce the new families that joined the club at this meeting.  The club discussed its health and safety topic, which was internet safety, and its energy topic, which was different forms of energy.

The new board of officers are: Taylor Poff, president; Kendall Pikor, vice president; Tatumn Poff, secretary; Austin Wetzel, treasurer; and Kaiden Wolcott, news reporter. Education that was discussed was the “Importance of Weighing Your Feed, Getting Your Show Calf Off to the Right Start” and “A Guide To Picking Out Your Show Pig.”

Everyone was reminded that steer tagging is Dec. 5 from 8-10 a.m. at the Geauga County Fairgrounds.
