Breeders & Feeders

On Nov. 29, Breeders & Feeders 4-H Club held a drive-by meeting at Munson Town Hall. Because of the coronavirus, we were unable to meet in our group club meeting, so we did a community service project to benefit Geauga County senior citizens. The club members collected lots of food, hats, scarves, gloves, puzzles, wood search books, calendars, Christmas cards and blankets. Club members were very generous with donations to fill many green bags. We received a huge thank-you for our participation.

The club also had a Zoom meeting for all members with beef projects. We were unable to meet at the fairgrounds this year for tagging and weigh-in. Every member called beef coordinator Courtney for ear tags. Discussion included animal care, feeding and housing. New members to our beef program are Lilyan Warner, Campbell Hoar, Isaac and Hannah Hutchinson, Delana Kellogg, Kole Fabiny and Bruin Spieth.

The club also wants to thank Geauga County Fairboard for having a Junior Fair and Livestock Sale this year. Thank you to all the buyers that supported the 4-H’ers by purchasing our market animal projects.

The next meeting is Feb 21. (Submitted by Virginia)
