Sew Sew Sweet

Sew Sew Sweet 4-H Club members are working hard to ensure that all veterans laid to rest at Welton Cemetery in Burton are honored in December on National Wreaths Across America Day. The ceremony, held simultaneously across the country at more than 2,100 participating locations, will be on Dec. 18.

The goal is to place a live balsam fir veteran’s wreath at the headstone of every veteran buried there and spread patriotism and ensure no one if forgotten.

Volunteers will host various fundraisers to sponsor the approximately 190 wreaths needed to honor every veteran at Welton Cemetery. Each wreath sponsorship costs $15, with $5 going to Sew Sew Sweet to be able to purchase fleece fabric to make no-sew blankets for the veterans that attend the Great Geauga County Fair on Sept. 3.
