Granny’s Kids
Granny’s Kids 4-H Club met June 27 at Mrs. Kitko’s house. The club’s members do a variety of projects such as gardening, fishing and cake decorating as well as everything from goats and pigs to poultry, rabbits and guinea pigs.
As one of its service projects, the club will be collecting food for the Geauga Hunger Task Force. If anyone would like to contribute, please drop items off at the Polished Salon and Boutique, 111 South St. in Chardon now through Aug 1. They are in particular need of condiments, dog food, diapers and canned soup. They will also accept checks or produce.
Project books must be completed by July 11, and project judging must be completed by July 17. Members discussed what they enjoyed about camp, did a chicken word search and voted to do a fair booth.
The next meeting will be July 11 at 7 p.m. Members will be going over rabbit, guinea pig and duck showmanship, so they should bring their animals. Entries for the fair close on Aug. 11. Members can enter online at www.geaugafair.com. (Submitted by Buddy Ferg, news reporter)
