Geauga Dairymen 4-H Club had its last meeting on Aug. 8 at Hastings Dairy Farm. Danny gave a health report on the importance of hand washing. Paul and Louie gave safety reports on personal safety when working with livestock and safety measures to take when working on cars and equipment.

Members discussed the finalized plans for their dairy basket to be auctioned off at fair. Members voted in Junior Fair king and queen. Barn setup was discussed for Sunday, Aug. 29.

Most of meeting discussion was around fair and planning for fair. Members discussed barn duty, expectations, showing and hauling. The meeting ended with demonstrations and education.

Owen discussed different cattle bedding options. Louie showed everyone different baseball pitches. Jack taught members how to tie a necktie. Advisor Emma reviewed a topline video as members prepare for show. Owen provided recreation.
