Geauga Beef & Swine

The Geauga Beef & Swine 4-H club met on Nov. 7 and elected new officers for 2022. The new officers are: Taylor Poff, president; Kendall Pikor, vice president; Tatumn Poff, secretary; Austin Wetzel, treasurer; and Kaiden Wolcott, news reporter.

At the meeting, events were planned and dates were listed for the upcoming meetings in the new year. The club set up its committees and members set the club goals for the year.

The club went over the proposed Junior Fair rules. Members were assigned their projects to present in certain months. Members also discussed child safety on the farm, they had an energy quiz on heat and they did a hands-on nutrition activity about the most important nutrient in livestock, which is water.

Beef tagging was on Dec. 4 at the fairgrounds. Lastly, members would like to wish all of their market livestock buyers a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. (Submitted by Kaiden Wolcott, 12, news reporter)
